Wednesday 5/28

Today we learned how to calculate the volume of hemispheres with Notes #74.

We then combined all of our knowledge of volume to tackle some interesting and challenging combination problems. Be sure to pay special attention to these kinds of problems to prepare yourself for this week's test.

Wednesday 5/21

Today we learned how to find the volume of cones with Notes #72.

We conducted an experiment with a cone, a cylinder, and some rice to derive the formula. The missing piece is now practicing the skill thoroughly until you're proficient.

Wednesday 5/14

Today we applied the Pythagorean Theorem to solve the Taco Cart problem, a three act play from Dan Meyer's excellent website.

Notes #69 consisted of copying the details from that website and calculating the time each would take to reach the cart. Be sure to have it all detailed and ready for the notes quiz on Friday.
